Active as a solo and chamber musician, Danish marimbist Anders Kann Elten has performed extensively in Europe and the United States and also toured China with the group Percurama while studying under the direction of Johan Bridger and professor Gert Mortensen at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
In 2012 he formed the ‘Phantom Duo’ together with Polish percussionist Tomasz Szczepaniak, and together they have performed at various venues in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Poland.
In 2015 he won the Grand Prize at the Enkor Music Competition in Germany, the first prize in both the soloist and the chamber music scholarship competitions at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, and received the third prize and the Keiko Abe honorary award in the 6th edition of the prestigious international competition in Belgium, the Universal Marimba Competition.
In 2016, he joined the newly formed World Percussion Group as the soloist, and toured the U.S., playing several solo and ensemble concerts, as well as teaching and giving master classes at various universities. In November 2016, the ensemble played a showcase concert at “PASIC” , the biggest percussion convention in the world.
Projects for early 2017 include a CD recording with Danish percussionist Mathias Reumert of works by Ravel and Reich, as well as recordings with the Phantom Duo of works by Wayne Siegel, Paganini and Anders Koppel.
